“Eating is a small, good thing”

About us
We believe in the power of food: the connection of friendship forged through a shared meal, the ability that food has to nurture and to heal, to celebrate and comfort, the common language that is cooking and eating, a fluency shared the world over.
Fiddleheads is currently in the hands of Rob Sokol and Eleanor Briggs, and is managed by Samantha Rule of Silver & Board (pictured) and her talented team.
Samantha has been working in kitchens since her first job as a dishwasher at The MacDowell Colony (now MacDowell) when she was 14. Really, though, her passion for cooking and feeding her loved ones was born much earlier, rolling gingerbread cookie dough and working in the garden alongside of her beloved grandmother. Samantha has a particular excitement for exploring the world through cultural cuisine, and is fascinated by the melding of cultures through ingredients and technique. She is a dedicated supporter of local food and seasonal, sustainable cooking and eating.
